ACTIVITY 2

My C2 class
My C2 exam class is parted by four people. Three young men and a young lady. The students are all teenagers but I don't see them as such. To me they are a bunch of people I try to educate (and by saying educate I mean show them aspects of the world they do not know about) in English. Two of the students have already acquired a very high (high C2) level of the language whereas the other two have a slightly lower level (lowC2). They are all learning English as a foreign language. They are all Greek. There is no coursebook for the class and no homework is assigned. The students are taught with the use of material found on the web which the students can revise/watch or not again if they want to. The students were taught with "traditional" methods of teaching until the B2 level and then switched to being taught with through DI. Although their target situation is very clear (acquiring the C2 level certificate / and their parents are paying for it) I've always tried to make it clear that the more "into" the language someone is, the easiest it will be for him to succeed in the C2 level exams. My classroom is not very noisy (as there are only 5 people in it). The students represent most of the learning styles. I have a kinaesthetic student, two students that learn best by seeing and last but not least one that's better at hearing). When the students started studying for the C2 level their self-confidence regarding the english language wasn't so high. Today they will engage in any activity even if it's far from their  own interests and their self confidence has risen. The clasroom the lessons take place is not very big. About 3m.x3m. There is a white markerboard which can also be used as an interactive board but is very rarely used as such. We usually take advantage of the board and the projector that hangs over it in order to watch powerpoints or youtube videos. Also, we very often surf the net. There are no traditional desks but rather three long desks arranged in a Π formation. This is something that is very convenient in such a small classroom as these desks can very easily sit 9 students. For the specific C2 class the Π formation has proved to be very inconvenient though as it takes ups most of the space and discourages my students from moving around freely. I usually sit between two of the students and have no actual desk.
